IVF is confusing enough without the guessworkover cost.
CairnFertility is an independent information and comparison service. We help people considering IVF, whoever they are building a family with or without, understand their options and compare clinics on the numbers that actually matter.
What we do
Compare UK and overseas IVF clinics on headline price, travel and published success rates, with the source behind every figure.
Publish plain-English guides for every family type and every stage of the process.
Run a clinic matcher that narrows the field to your situation, entirely in your own browser.
Publish real stories from people at every stage, only with their consent.
What we don’t
We are not a clinic, agent, or broker, and we take no payment for a clinic's inclusion or placement.
We don't give medical advice. Our matcher filters public information; it doesn't assess your fertility.
We don't sell data, run ads, or track you. There's simply nothing here built to do that.
We don't claim a published success rate predicts your own outcome. It doesn't, and no site should say it does.
How we check our numbers.
Our editorial standard for presenting prices and success rates is the Competition and Markets Authority’s consumer law guidance for fertility clinics (June 2021). It was written for clinics, but it is the definitive UK statement of what fair price and success-rate information looks like, and we hold our own pages to it: headline prices with what they leave out stated beside them, and success rates that always say what they measure, which year they cover, and where they come from.
In practice, that means:
UK success rates are copied from the HFEA's detailed statistics for each clinic: live births per embryo transferred from January 2022 to December 2024, for the age group, treatment and fresh or frozen embryos you choose, with the births and transfers behind each figure and the HFEA's comparison with the national rate. Below 20 embryos transferred we show no rate, because the sample is too small. Overseas figures are the clinic's own, labelled as not checked by us, and are never sorted into one list with UK figures.
A success-rate age group a clinic has not published is shown as "not published", never guessed, estimated, or filled with a zero.
Prices are headline figures from each clinic's published price list, sanity-checked against the HFEA's national cost guidance. Beside the headline price we show a travel estimate for treatment abroad and, where a clinic publishes one, its own estimate of a typical total. Drugs, ICSI, donor material and storage are usually charged on top.
Every price-bearing page shows its verification date. The data was last re-verified on 13 September 2026, and an automated check fails our build if it goes stale, so an out-of-date figure cannot sit here quietly.
Fertility medications are discussed by category with typical cost ranges only. Prescription medicines are never named or promoted here: prescribing decisions belong with your clinician.
Some clinics are deliberately not listed. Where credible reporting or an open regulatory investigation means we cannot stand behind what a clinic tells patients, we leave it out of the finder rather than list it with a caveat, and we say which clinics and why below.

Clinics we do not list
Leaving a clinic out is not a finding against it, and nothing here is an allegation of ours. While the wording is under legal review we publish only the reason below, with links to the reporting it rests on. Each exclusion is reviewed on the date shown.
BBC News reported in 2026 that the northern Cyprus Ministry of Health had opened an investigation into the use of donor sperm and eggs at IVF clinics there. We do not list clinics named in that reporting while the investigation is open. This is a holding position, not a finding of our own, and it is reviewed on the date held with the entry.
CairnFertility is free to use. To keep it that way, clinics and other organisations can sponsor our guides or the site as a whole. Sponsorship pays for the writing and checking; it does not buy influence. These are the rules every sponsor agrees to:
Sponsors fund a guide, or the site as a whole. They never fund, and cannot buy a place in, the clinic finder, the matcher, the cost tools, or any ranking, filter, price or success rate. Those read from the same sources for every clinic.
Every sponsored page says "Sponsored" and names the sponsor before the content starts.
Sponsors do not write, see or approve anything before it is published. Their own claims, such as success rates, offers or "best clinic" wording, never appear here.
Guides about prices, success rates or choosing a clinic cannot be sponsored.
A sponsoring clinic's own page in the finder says that it sponsors us, so you can weigh that for yourself.
Clinics we do not list cannot sponsor us.
Sponsors get no personal data about you, and links to them carry no tracking.
Current sponsors
None. No clinic or other organisation currently pays to appear on this site.
Interested in sponsoring, or think a sponsor has broken these rules? Email hello@cairnfertility.com.
We’re building this in the open.
CairnFertility started from a simple frustration: comparing IVF clinics meant piecing together headline prices, scattered success rates, and no clear read on which clinics actually welcome solo parents and LGBTQ+ families. Here’s what we’ve built so far, and what’s coming next.
Live
Comparing UK and overseas clinics
The clinic finder and matcher went live first: UK and overseas clinics side by side, with the source and year behind every figure.
Live
A guide for every family type
Solo mum, solo dad, two mums, two dads, and couples each get their own guide, written for their actual path rather than adapted from a straight-couple template.
Paused
Real stories, when we have them
We've taken down our example stories and quotes. We'll publish real accounts, including ones where treatment didn't work, only with the writer's consent.
Building now
A community, not just a comparison tool
The next thing we're building is a place to find other people at your stage, and hear from people who've been through it. Our invite-only community group is open now: apply below.
Find people at the same stage.
Whatever your path, IVF is easier alongside people who get it. Our community is a small, private group (not a forum) where you can find others at your stage and ask people who have been through it. Every member is approved by a person before they get in.
